Merchandise Protection

As a general guideline, most products distributed by Balkamp carry a ONE Year, 12,000 MILE Warranty. This should be used as a basic guideline for all products and is supported by our Customer Satisfaction Policy. Some Balkamp products carry specific manufacturer warranties or require special handling procedures.

Balkamp Customer Satisfaction Policy

At Balkamp, we believe that the customer should be satisfied with the performance, quality and workmanship of whatever product they buy. With a few exceptions, we believe that the consumer has the right to use any product purchased for a reasonable amount of time before determining whether a product performs satisfactory and is of good quality. If the customer reasonably decides that the product does not meet this test, they may return the product to their local NAPA AUTO PARTS store. Balkamp encourages the NAPA AUTO PARTS store to do whatever is nec­essary to correct the customer's dissatisfaction. Whether a full cash refund or credit against the purchase of other merchandise is used, is solely up to the discretion of the serving NAPA AUTO PARTS store.

If the product purchased carries a specific written manufacturer's warranty or is considered a "Repair and Return" item, the NAPA AUTO PARTS store should handle the warranty in accordance with the manufacturer's warranty program or expedite the repair and return of the products pur­chased. It is our objective to fairly handle all warranty adjustments in a manner that will satisfy our customer.

Balkamp's Customer Satisfaction Policy covers the cost of the defective product only and does not cover the cost of installation. Balkamp reserves the right to refuse credit in the event that any damage to the product resulted from collision, improper installation, or other customer abuses. This policy extends only to the original purchaser of the product and is nontransferable. The Balkamp Policy is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, with the exception of consumer warranties as provided with the packaged product. In warranty cases, those wishing to handle the warranty procedure directly with the manufacturer are welcome to do so. Credit will not be issued on warranty items as specified for repair or return. Balkamp will not issue defective credit on assortments or kits as component parts are offered individually in Balkamp's lines of products. In most cases, you can break down the kit or the assortment into its individual component parts and replace only those parts which are truly defective. All items claimed defective should be returned from the NAPA AUTO PARTS store to the NAPA Distribution Center and then forwarded on to your serving Balkamp Operation. Balkamp will review your defective credit request and issue credit on all items accompanied by the proper proof of purchase. Items not specifically covered by our Customer Satisfaction Policy are: labor claims, starter drive cores, gas nozzle cores and chemical items being returned.

Merchandise Protection Plan Guidelines

General Warranty Items:  Items returned within the One Year, 12,000 Mile Warranty period due to product failure or unsatisfactory performance, that are not guaranteed under specific manufac­turer guidelines, are deemed "General Warranty" items.

Handling Procedures:  Exchange the item for the customer with an item that will satisfy his/her needs or refund their money. All general warranty items must have a completed "Defective Merchandise Tag" (NAPA form N2203*) along with the customer's sales receipt. If the customer's sales receipt is not available, the following information must be included: part number, date installed, date replaced, invoice number where possible, and the reason for the return.

NAPA FORM N2203: Order this form through your serving NAPA Distribution Center.

Limited Use Items:  It should be noted that some Balkamp products (non-application items) are specifically designed for immediate consumption or with limited use in mind, ie., air fresheners, brooms, brushes, fiberglass, flashlight batteries, fuses, grinding wheels, jersey gloves, light bulbs, etc. With limited use in mind, Balkamp's One Year, 12,000 Mile Warranty is not applicable to these types of products. However, if one of these products is deemed unacceptable for use, it too should be handled as a "General Warranty" item.

Extended Manufacturer Warranties

Some Balkamp products carry an extended warranty from the manufacturer that goes beyond the limited One Year, 12,000 Mile Warranty offered by Balkamp. If an item is returned to a NAPA AUTO PARTS store during the extended warranty period, it should be handled according to the manufac­turer's instructions found within the package. Please contact Balkamp Customer Service for answers to questions.

Kits and Assortments

Balkamp will NOT issue defective credit on most kits or assortments. In most cases, you can replace any allegedly defective or missing part(s) in a kit, or the assortment can be broken down into its component parts and put into stock.

Handling Procedure: The NAPA AUTO PARTS store should submit an RGN to their serving NAPA Distribution Center for credit on the individual missing or allegedly defective part(s). The RGN should include the kit or assortment part number and the individual part number(s) for which cred­it is being requested. The Distribution Center should likewise submit an RGN, along with copies of the Jobber RGN, to their serving Balkamp Operation.

Mis-packaged Merchandise/Merchandise On Recall

Handling Procedure: All products must be returned from the NAPA AUTO PARTS store to the NAPA Distribution Center on an RGN. The NAPA Distribution Center should then return all prod­ucts to their serving Balkamp Operation, using a separate RGN and keeping all "mis-packaged/ recall" product separate from allegedly defective merchandise and class return merchandise.

Warranty Handling Procedures & Guidelines

NAPA/Evercraft Hand Tools

All NAPA/Evercraft hand tools are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for as long as the customer owns the tool. The Lifetime Guarantee includes all hand tools with the excep­tion of the following:

Handtool Sets: Since all sets are made up of individual Evercraft hand tools, the individual part numbers can be replaced separately, in lieu of replacing the entire set. The following sets should be excluded:

Special Sets:  The following Evercraft Tool Sets do not currently offer individual replacement units for these wrench sets.

Handling Procedure

Because the listed sets are packaged in a "re-closable case" type package, there are two ways in which the warranty may be handled. They are:

1.  The NAPA AUTO PARTS store should try to replace the allegedly defective part(s) for the cus­
tomer immediately with part(s) from a set in stock. The depleted set could be replenished  by
contacting the Customer Service Manager at their serving Balkamp Operation. (Balkamp would
ship replacement parts directly to the store.)

2.     If there is not a set available to replace the allegedly defective part(s), Balkamp will ship replace­
ment part(s) directly to the store via 2nd Day UPS.  Please contact the Customer Service
Manager at your serving Balkamp Operation.

NAPA/Evercraft Air Tool 90 Day Limited Warranty Policy

All NAPA/Evercraft Air Tools are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Should your Evercraft Air Tool fail within the first 30 days from the purchase date, the customer can return the tool to your NAPA AUTO PARTS store and have it replaced with a new one.

After the 30 day return period, all Evercraft Air Tools carry a 60 day repair and return warranty program. The customer simply ships the air tool, prepaid, to the nearest authorized warranty repair center. The air tool will be returned to the customer, freight prepaid.

To expedite the handling of all NAPA/Evercraft Air Tool warranty claims, NAPA/Eve rc raft requires the following:

   Sales Receipt for Proof of Purchase

   Service Tag Completed in its Entirety

   A Description of the Suspected Defect

The foregoing obligation under the NAPA/Evercraft Air Tool 90 Day Limited Warranty Policy is our sole liability under this or any implied warranty. Under no circumstances shall NAPA/Evercraft be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. Repairs required by abuse, misuse, damage or repair attempts (by anyone other than a NAPA/Evercraft authorized service center) are not cov­ered by this warranty

NAPA/Evercraft Cordless Power Tools 90 Day Limited Warranty Policy

All NAPA/Evercraft Cordless Power Tools are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Should your Evercraft Cordless Power Tool fail within the first 30 days from the purchase date, the customer can return the tool to your NAPA AUTO PARTS store and have it replaced with a new one.

After the 30 day return period, all Evercraft Cordless Power Tools carry a 60 day repair and war­ranty program. The tool will be returned to the customer, freight prepaid.

To expedite the handling of all NAPA/Evercraft Air Tool warranty claims, NAPA /Evercraft Air Tool warranty claims, NAPA/Evercraft requires the following:

NAPA Professional Air Tools Warranty Policy

All NAPA Professional Air Tools are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase.

When a customer experiences operating problems with a NAPA Professional Air Tool within 30 days of the original purchase, the NAPA AUTO PARTS store will be authorized to exchange the allegedly defective air tool for a new tool.

The allegedly defective air tool should then be returned to your serving NAPA Distribution Center, who in turn will return the tool to their serving Balkamp Operation. All allegedly defective tools

must be accompanied by a receipt for proof of purchase.  This proof of purchase must show that the purchase and exchange transaction took place within the 30 day warranty exchange period. The defective tag and RGN should be marked clearly as "New Defective".

After the 30 day exchange period, all NAPA Professional Air Tools carry an additional 11 month repair and replace warranty period. The allegedly defective NAPA Professional Air Tools must be sent to an authorized Warranty Repair Center, freight prepaid. To ensure the repair and return of the air tool, we require a sales receipt for proof of purchase, and a completed copy of the NAPA Professional Air Tools "Service" tags.

All NAPA Professional Air Tool Products indentified by the NAPA logo and 6-part number located on the tool nameplate, qualify under this warranty policy.

The foregoing obligation under the NAPA Professional Air Tools Warranty Policy is our sole liability under this or any implied warranty. Under no circumstances shall NAPA Professional Air Tools be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. This warranty does not cover damage to tools rising from alteration, abuse, misuse and does not cover and repairs made by anyone other than an authorized NAPA Professional Air Tool Warranty Repair Center. Tools sent to a warranty center in a disassembled condition will not be covered as a warranty repair.

NAPA Professional Lifting Equipment

Balkamp warrants that all jacks and service-related equipment will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years following the original date of purchase.  This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser only.  If any jack or service-related item proves to be defective during this period, it will be replaced or repaired, at our option, without charge.  This war­ranty does not apply to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which has been altered or used with special attachments other than those recommend­ed. This warranty does not cover repairs made by anyone who is not a BALKAMP/NAPA Professional Lifting Equipment Authorized Repair Center.

The following items possess an over-the-counter exchange warranty for 2 years.  This allegedly defective product must be returned, accompanied by a receipt showing proof-of-purchase to Balkamp, via the NAPA AUTO PARTS store.

THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

NAPA Lifting Equipment

Balkamp warrants that all jacks and service-related equipment will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 180 days following the original date of purchase.  This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser only.  If any jack or service-related item proves to be defective during this period, it will be replaced or repaired, at our option, without charge.  This war­ranty does not apply to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which has been altered or used with special attachments other than those recommend­ed.  This warranty does not cover repairs made by anyone who is not a Balkamp/NLE Authorized Repair Center.

The following items possess an over-the-counter exchange warranty for 180 days.  This allegedly defective product must be returned, accompanied by a receipt showing proof-of-purchase to Balkamp, via the NAPA Auto Parts store.

Repair and Return Procedures

Some products offered in the Balkamp line carry an expressed "Repair & Return" warranty.  Due to the nature of these products, it is recognized throughout our industry that these items should be repaired by the manufacturer and returned for further use.  All products identified as "Repair & Return" carry a 30 day "New Defect" warranty.  This warranty protects the consumer against products that do not work properly when purchased or fail within 30 days.

Handling Procedure:

All "New Defects" should be exchanged for the customer with a new working unit when possible. Attach a completed Defective Merchandise Tag clearly marked "New Defect" and return the alleged­ly defective unit with all its original component parts and a copy of the sales receipt to your serv­ing NAPA Distribution Center for credit.  Credit will not be issued unless all original component parts are returned. "Repair & Return" items returned to the NAPA AUTO PARTS store after 30 day "New Defect" period, must be returned to the manufacturer for repair.

Handling Procedure:

Time is important!  To eliminate unnecessary handling, the item should be sent directly to the man­ufacturer or repair depot.  Both are prepared to service you with the least amount of delay.

Note:

Be sure to include the customer's dated sales receipt.  Repairs made beyond the specified warran­ty period will be charged to the customer. We recommend that you contact the manufacturer before returning an item to be repaired.
