Limited Warranty

Grote Industries warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the durations stated below. All products in the Grote Industries cata­log will be covered by a one year limited warranty, with the explicit exception of those items listed below. During said warranty period which is determined from the date code imprinted on the prod­uct, and subject to the limitations and exclusions set forth below, Grote Industries at its discre­tion will repair any defective part or if necessary replace any defective part. THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT SHALL BE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY AND GROTE INDUS-TRIES SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS OR EXPENSES INCIDENTAL THERETO, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO TRANSPORTATION, FREIGHT AND POSTAGE. The party making a claim under this warranty shall be solely responsible for any such incidental costs or expenses.

Warranty Durations

This limited warranty shall not extend to any of Grote's products or any parts thereof which defects in equipment have been caused by use of incompatible chemicals or cleaners, misuse, neg­lect, incorrect wiring, water damage, unauthorized alterations or repairs, or damage caused during return shipment due to inadequate packaging or mishandling.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDES FAILURE OF INCANDESCENT BULBS AND FLUORESCENT TUBES INCLUDED WITHIN LAMP ASSEMBLIES. Grote lamp assemblies and har­ness products are designed to function as a complete system. Therefore, this limited warranty shall not extend to failure of any Grote products caused by the use of incompatible lamp assem­blies or harness products. GROTE INDUSTRIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CON­SEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF USE OF VEHICLE, RENTAL OF SUBSTITUTE VEHICLE, LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF WORK, INCONVENIENCE, TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES, TELEPHONE, LODGING, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF AND/OR DAMAGE TO PERSON-AL PROPERTY FOR OR ARISING OUT OF BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF ITS PRODUCTS.

This limited warranty, EFFECTIVE APRIL 15, 2002, is expressly in lieu of all other expressed or implied warranties, including the implied warranty of merchantability and the implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, and of all other obligations or liabilities on the part of Grote

Industries. No dealer, distributor, employee, or representative of the company is authorized to change this warranty in any way or to grant any other warranty.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. Further, some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

LED Limited Warranty

Grote extends a ten-year (10) warranty to the original consumer/purchaser that the Grote LEDs are free from defects in workmanship and/or materials only. Grote will replace any LED lamp to the original consumer/purchaser, if the LED lamp fails due to defects in workmanship and/or materials. THE LED LAMP LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO SEVERE APPLICATIONS such as off-road vehicles, construction equipment, and buses. These applications are examples only and are not all inclusive of such excluded applications.

1.)  Grote LED lamps are to REMAIN INTACT, FREE FROM PHYSICAL ABUSE, NOT SUBJECT TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR MODIFICATION AND MUST BE USED ONLY WITH GROTE APPROVED WIRING ACCESSORIES. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE CONDITIONS WILL VOID THIS LED LIMITED LAMP WARRANTY.

2.) ANY DAMAGE DUE TO CHEMICALS AND OR INCOMPATIBLE CLEANERS WILL VOID THIS WAR­RANTY.

3.) Grote LED lamps are designed to work in conjunction with Grote pigtails and UBS harness sys­tems. Therefore, LED lamps have a Limited Warranty with the following exception:

   LED lamps that are hardwired and use standard bullet terminal/receptacle type connections are covered by a three (3) year Limited Warranty.

THIS GROTE LED LIMITED WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE AND ONLY APPLIES TO THE ORIGI­NAL PURCHASER AND INSTALLATION OF THE GROTE LED, AND IS VALID AS LONG AS SAID PARTY OWNS THE VEHICLE (NOT TO EXCEED TEN YEARS).

Warranty Application

THIS WARRANTY SHALL EXTEND ONLY TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER AND IS NOT TRANSFERABLE.

Warranty Return and Replacement Instructions

To be eligible for limited warranty consideration, either contact your Grote sales representative or call Grote customer service at 800.628.0809 (In Canada call 800.268.5612). Upon issuance of a returned goods authorization number, return the failed product, freight prepaid to Warranty at Grote Industries Inc., 2600 Lanier Drive, Madison, Indiana 47250. In Canada, return product to Warranty at Grote Industries Co., 393 Nugget Ave., Toronto, Ontario M1S 4G3. Any product cov­ered under the terms of the respective limited warranty will be replaced directly to the original consumer/purchaser only. Items received by Grote will not be returned unless accompanied by a

specific written request. The product to be returned will be those items not covered under the war­ranty and will be returned to sender freight collect.

Surface Mount Installation Guidelines

  The following procedures need to be practiced to assure proper installation. The lamp should be
placed on a level unobstructed surface. Number 10 screws should be tightened to 25 in. pounds
of torque. Only Grote UBS pigtails should interface with any Grote lamps. These guidelines will
assure the products will function and last as they were designed. Deviations from these guide­
lines will void any warranty.
