POWRBILT DIESEL ENGINES

(PBD)

Coverage

This warranty applies to all engines remanufactured by Powrbilt unless specifically excluded because of specific product or application whereas it will have a separate warranty statement (ie: Marine), or by the below described conditions. Complete engines are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service for a period of 12 months from the date of the first installation to the original end user. There are no mileage limitations on this warranty coverage. Warranty is limited to the continental US and Canada. Off road application warranty coverage is limited to 12 months or 1600 hours, which ever occurs first. Warranty is not transferable.

Powrbilt Product Responsibilities

Powrbilt will furnish all necessary parts and reimburse labor cost required to repair damage to a covered engine which results from defects in workmanship and/or materials furnished by Powrbilt. All labor costs will be reimbursed at the prevailing straight time labor rate, excluding travel time, of the authorized warranty repair location and in accordance with the original equipment manufactur er e standard repair times guidelines (SRT). R&R labor paid per SRT time, not to exceed 16 hours. Upon receipt of information from the retail vendor of the engine that a failure which is thought to be warrantable has occurred (see customer responsibilities), Powrbilt will arrange with retail vendor to direct the customer to an authorized warranty repair location near customer for a determination of the failure. In some cases it may be necessary for the involved part and/or the complete engine to be examined by Powrbilt Technicians before determination of the warranty responsibilities can be made. Powrbilt may request return of engine for final analysis of failure before determination of warranty responsibilities are made. Powrbilt reserves the right to replace any failed part.

Powrbilt Products will settle all warranty claims through the original selling dealer or distributor of the warrantable engine(s).

Customer Responsibilities

Before the warranty period expires, the customer must notify the retail vendor of the engine that a possible warranty failure has occurred. This notification must be made before any repairs are made to the engine. The customer must deliver all failed and all other related parts to the authorized warranty repair location, as directed by the retail vendor so that the cause of the failure, and responsibility for the failure can be determined. At the time when the engine is first installed, the customer is responsible to retain a written record of the purchase which contains the following: 1) The date of the first installation of the engine. 2) The serial number of the installed engine, the serial number of the replaced engine, and the serial number of the vehicle into which the engine is installed. 3) The mileage or hours of the vehicle. Such written records must accompany and support any warranty claim. The customer is responsible to ensure that the engine is installed in an application, which meets the original equipment manufacturer's minimum requirements for engine operating system such as air intake, fuel supply, engine cooling, etc.

Limitations

This warranty does not cover failures caused by:

Operator abuse or neglect such as engine operation with inadequate or contaminated coolant,
fuel or lubricants, over-fueling, over-speeding, inadequate or improperly maintained lubrication,
cooling or air intake systems, improper storage, starting, warm-up/break-in or shut-down
practices.

Improper repairs which includes the improper installation of repair parts or assemblies, and/or
accessory parts and/or devices.

The installation and use of any required engine components which do not meet the published OEM
operating performance (new or remanufactured) for such components.

The use of any engine lubrication oil which does not meet Original Equipment Manufacturer's
minimum requirements and specifications.

Since some engines are used by some manufacturers for different applications, it may be necessary at times to change an oil pan, flywheel housing, intake pieces, motor mount, timing cover, etc. from the engine replaced to the engine being installed. Due to these varied applications, we cannot be 100% correct at all times, therefore, WE CANNOT ASSUME ANY OBLIGATION FOR COST OF MAKING THESE CHANGES IN THE FIELD, EITHER PARTS OR LABOR. This warranty does not cover excessive damages to an engine such as those which occur due to lack of timely attention to and correction of warrantable failures by the engine operator. Progressive damage is limited to the immediate area of the engine in contact with warrantable failure as if the engine was shut down as soon as the failure occurred. Powrbilt is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages including but not limited to a driver or vehicle downtime, and related expenses such as lodging and meals, communications expenses, business costs or losses, and towing charges, even if such damages, costs or losses or expenses result from a warrantable failure. The warranties set forth herein are the sole warranties made by Powrbilt with regard to the remanufactured engine. Powrbilt makes no other warranties either expressed or implied. Powrbilt does not make, and expressly disclaims and excludes any warranty of merchantability, or of fitness for a particular purpose.

Please Note: The high quality engines are intended to replace those products sold by the original equipment manufacturers. Any use of an original equipment manufacturer's part number, part name, trade name, or description is for reference purpose only.

Note: Warranty Registration Card must be received by Powrbilt to establish installation date as warranty start date. If registration card is not received, warranty start date will be date of sale to the end user.
